It is with the deepest regret that we must inform you of the death of our beloved Harry Garthwaite who died peacefully at home on Thursday 5 th September 2024 at the grand age of 104 yrs.

Harry Garthwaite was an RAF Pilot during WW2. He was born 104 years ago in 1920. His duties during WW2 included Day Fighter, Night Fighter, Special Operations and VIP Transporter. He flew 2231 hours in 23 types of Aircraft over England, France, Belgium, Holland and Germany. He was “Mentioned in Dispatches” and was an Amasing and Heroic Character.
